Washing machine problems after moving

If you’ve just moved houses, and your washing machine is leaking water like crazy, chances are, one or more of the gaskets on the hoses connecting your machine to the water tap fell out en route to your new place.

You can get replacements from a hardware store. Bring along the hoses to get a good fit (they come in different sizes).

Bonus: If you find that hot water is coming through on a cold cycle, or the other way round, you might have just fitted the hoses wrongly. Switch the hoses around such that the first hose fits on to the OTHER tap, and the OTHER hose fits on to the former tap.
