Fortified wine is nice

Fortified wine (or dessert wine as it is known in the United States) is generally a sweeter and more potent variety of wine.

It is made by adding some form of alcohol or liqueur (usually brandy) to the wine before the fermentation process is complete, with the original intent of preserving the wine. The sweetness of fortified wine is a result of the alcohol killling the yeast, and leaving behind residual sugar.

It goes very well with rich chocolate ice cream and berries.
